Rapper Kanye West defended President Trump and Republicans during his Sunday Service in Salt Lake City when he reminded those in attendance that it was the Republican Party that voted to end slavery.

“That’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves,” West said per the Washington Examiner.

The music icon went on to challenge his critics and those who insult him for allying himself with conservativism and President Trump.

West said he “chose” to break the mold and think for himself.

“And we got the right, right? We got a right to our opinions, right?” he asked per the report. “You black, so you can’t like Trump? I ain’t never made a decision only based on my color. That’s a form of slavery, mental slavery.”

Check it out:

According to the report, between 7,000 to 10,000 people attended the event, which West regularly holds.

West’s event comes as his latest push for Trump after taking some time away from politics.

The rapper has previously visited the White House and offered his support for Trump during a special appearance on Saturday Night Live.

The Washington Examiner adds:

West previously spoke about the concept of “mental slavery” during a controversial TMZ Live interview last year. At the time, he suggested that slavery was a “choice.”

“When you hear about slavery for 400 years … for 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” he said. “Like, you was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all? It’s like we’re mentally in prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. It’s like slavery, Holocaust. Holocaust, Jews. Slavery is blacks. So, prison is something that unites us as one race. Blacks and whites being one race. We’re the human race.”

West is one of Trump’s most famous supporters in the music industry, even visiting the White House to meet with the president last year. Around the same time, he appeared on Saturday Night Live and launched into a pro-Trump rant during the show’s credits.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may be reconsidering her “no impeachment” rule after fellow Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez challenged her leadership.

In a weekend Twitter rant, the New York congresswoman said there was one thing worse than President Trump and his “lawbreaking behavior”: Democratic leadership.

The comment appeared to be a swipe at Pelosi and others that refuse to embrace impeaching Trump, regardless of how many other Democrats in the chamber support it. (Only 37 percent of voters support an impeachment effort).

“At this point, the bigger national scandal isn’t the president’s lawbreaking behavior — it is the Democratic Party’s refusal to impeach him for it,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet on Sunday.

The Washington Examiner adds:

Ocasio-Cortez responded to one comment from the Atlantic’s James Fallows, who said, “[In my opinion], this is ‘false equivalence’ of its own sort. What Trump is doing remains objectively the biggest threat, scandal, and problem. Second-ranking: the silent acquiescence of the GOP Senate. Then: it’s time for House to act.”

The congresswoman replied: “It is one thing for a sitting president to break the law. It’s another to let him. The integrity of our democracy isn’t threatened when a president breaks the law. It‘s threatened when we do nothing about it. The GOP’s silence & refusal to act shouldn’t be a surprise. Ours is.”

Later that very same day, Pelosi offered a different tone altogether on President Trump and his controversial call with the Ukrainian president. The House Speaker seemingly left the door open on impeachment, calling for “a whole new stage of investigations.”

“If the administration persists in blocking this whistleblower from disclosing to Congress a serious possible breach of constitutional duties by the president, they will be entering a grave new chapter of lawlessness which will take us into a whole new stage of investigations,” Pelosi said per BizPac Review.

And, per the report:

Though the Democratic leader has previously resisted the idea of an impeachment inquiry over fears of the damage it could inflict on the more moderate Democratic members of the House, she issued the warning of an escalating investigation of the administration. appearing to relent to pressure from demands by Ocasio-Cortez and others on the left.

Pelosi demanded the whistleblower’s complaint be provided to Congress in her letter, and called on lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to act in the wake of the administration blocking Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire from releasing the document which reportedly related to a conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July about potentially investigating Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

“The administration is endangering our national security and having a chilling effect on any future whistleblower who sees wrongdoing,” Pelosi wrote.

Pelosi continued: “We must be sure that the president and his administration are always conducting our national security and foreign policy in the best interest of the American people, not the president’s personal or political interest.”

And, via BizPac Review: “I am calling on Republicans to join us in insisting that the acting DNI obey the law as we seek the truth to protect the American people and our Constitution. This violation is about our national security. The Inspector General determined that the matter is “urgent” and therefore we face an emergency that must be addressed immediately.”

President Trump is looking to enact powers under the Insurrection Act to remove illegal immigrants from the country, the Daily Caller reports “multiple senior administration officials” have told them.

According to the report, the Insurrection Act of 1807 gives Trump the authority to use the National Guard and the military to challenge “unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States,” on U.S. territory.

From the Daily Caller:

An official expressed concerns that Trump’s use of the act’s powers would face legal challenges, pointing to the lawsuits against the president’s travel ban from majority-Muslim countries. However, as the official noted, the travel ban ultimately prevailed in the Supreme Court.

In addition to the Insurrection Act, the president is also considering declaring the country full and insisting that the U.S. can no longer handle the massive influx of illegal immigrants. 2019 is currently on pace to reach the highest levels of illegal immigration in a decade.

According to the report, one senior administration official said, “If you take a ship and it holds 1,000 people maximum — one more person and the ship is going to collapse. The country is full.”

“Our hospitals are full, our detention centers are full,” the official continued.

BizPac Review reports these comments echo ones made by President Trump last month: “The system is full. We can’t take you anymore. Whether it’s asylum, whether it’s anything you want, it’s illegal migration, we can’t take you anymore,” he said in a statement at the time.

“Our country is full, our area’s full, the sector is full. We can’t take you anymore, I’m sorry, can’t happen,” he said. “So turn around, that’s the way it is.”

And, from BizPac Review:

Thanks to both an influx of roughly 75,000 illegals per month and a reduction in available immigration enforcement resources, overcrowding continues to spiral out of control.

Just last weekend The Washington Post confirmed that overcrowding at certain U.S. Border Patrol stations has become so severe that officials “have taken the rare step of using aircraft to relocate migrants to other areas of the border simply to begin processing them.”

“Homeland Security officials requested the aircraft because Border Patrol urgently needs to move single adults out of the lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. The agency is scrambling to make room for the large volume of families and children who have come across the border in dramatically higher numbers in the past several days, officials said.”

President Trump may have hinted utilizing the act when he tweeted on Friday, “All people that are illegally coming into the United States now will be removed from our Country at a later date as we build up our removal forces and as the laws are changed.”

“Please do not make yourselves too comfortable, you will be leaving soon!” he added.

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is waging a war on former Vice President Joe Biden and his moderate stance on climate change.

The Democratic presidential frontrunner was recently polled as the 20+ pool’s most “electable” candidate, BizPac Review reports, but his views about the environment are a “dealbreaker” for Ocasio-Cortez.

“This is a dealbreaker,” the New York congresswoman wrote in a tweet concerning a Reuters story about Biden. “There is no ‘middle ground’ w/ climate denial & delay.”

“Blaming ‘blue collar’ Americans as the main opponents to bold climate policy is gas lobbyist 101. We’re not going to solve the climate crisis w/ this lack of leadership. Our kids’ lives are at stake,” she added.

Several other liberals quickly jumped in and backed Ocasio-Cortez’s view:

BizPac Review reports Ocasio-Cortez wants a more firm plan to combat environmental change from her party’s leader and potential presidential nominee:

AOC is among the slew of radically far-left Democrats who believe that American society must be completely restructured, lest the world grinds to a halt in exactly 12 years.

Biden meanwhile intends to pursue a more “reasonable” plan that calls for reentering the widely panned Paris Climate Agreement and reinstituting the Obama-era regulations that Trump has repealed.

To appease blue-collar Americans, his plan would “also be supportive of nuclear energy and fossil fuel options like natural gas and carbon capture technology, which limit emissions from coal plants and other industrial facilities,” according to Reuters.

The goal would be to appease both radical environmentalists and everyday Americans. But according to Ocasio-Cortez and others like her, trying to appease both sides is a big no-no.

The Biden campaign has pushed back on the report, clarifying that Biden sees the climate changing as an “existential threat” and wants to do all he can within reason to coax Republicans into supporting it.

Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar still alleges President Trump incited violence against her when he tweeted out a video of her talking about the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and reportedly took her complaint to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

Trump’s tweet featured a video of Omar controversially referring to the terror attacks as “some people did something” alongside footage of the actual 9/11 attack. The president captioned the tweet, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET.”

Omar, as BizPac Review reports, reportedly called up Dorsey and instructed him to delete the tweet.

“During their conversation, [Dorsey] emphasized that death threats, incitement to violence, and hateful conduct are not allowed on Twitter,” Dorsey’s spokesperson said, confirming the two had spoken over the phone. “We’ve significantly invested in technology to proactively surface this type of content and will continue to focus on reducing the burden on the individual being targeted. Our team has also consistently been in touch with Rep. Omar’s office.”

According to BizPac Review, Dorsey said the tweet did not violate Twitter’s terms and conditions so it was not ban worthy.

Here’s more from the report:

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” she said, referring to the Muslim advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Trump’s tweet, declaring “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!” has been viewed over 10 million times and sparked hysteria from the left accusing the president of inciting violence against the freshman congresswoman who dismissed the terrorist attack that claimed nearly 3,000 American lives.

Omar’s Muslim colleague in the House, Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, defended commentsby her “sister” who was “uplifting people by supporting their civil liberties and civil rights,” and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi demanded Trump take down his video post.

As the Washington Post reports, Dorsey visited the White house earlier this week where he spoke personally with President Trump. The president reportedly talked with the CEO about shadow bans and Twitter’s perceived bias against conservatives.

From the report:

During the conversation, Trump spent a significant amount of time raising his concerns that Twitter deliberately targets and removes his followers, the Post previously reported.

Trump has made those claims in connection with his belief that social-media sites are biased against conservatives. But Dorsey said that Twitter’s efforts to combat spam result in fluctuations in a user’s follower count, noting even he had been affected.

Asked about that meeting, Twitter noted in a statement that Dorsey and the president also discussed the 2020 election and efforts to stop the opioid epidemic. A source at the time described the meeting as cordial.

It is being reported that President Trump has been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

One of Japan’s largest newspapers reports that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has nominated the United State president for spurring the peace negotiation process with North Korea.

According to the report, as NBC News reports, Abe sent a five-page letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. Trump enthusiastically shared during a press conference that he was personally given a copy of this letter.

CNN reports that during the presser, Trump said: “Prime Minister Abe of Japan gave me the most beautiful copy of a letter that he sent to the people who give out a thing called the Nobel Prize.”

Trump continued, speaking of Abe: “He said: ‘I have nominated you, respectfully, on behalf of Japan. I am asking them to give you the Nobel Peace Prize.’ I said, ‘Thank you.’”

“You know why? Because he had rocket ships and he had missiles flying over Japan,” the U.S. president added. “They feel safe. I did that.”

Here’s more:

The national newspaper Asahi Shimbun, citing multiple Japanese government sources, reported Sunday that the U.S. government “informally” asked Japan to nominate Trump after he met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore last year.

At a meeting of the lower house of Japan’s parliament on Monday, Abe said he wouldn’t comment on the report because Peace Prize nominations are secret for 50 years. But he did say: “I’m not saying it’s not true.”

Speaking later to reporters, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga gave the same reason for declining to comment, saying: “The Nobel Committee doesn’t reveal the identity of those recommending or those recommended for the award for 50 years. And so based on this, I would like to refrain from making comments on this.”

A CNN report adds:

Speaking in the lower house of parliament Monday, Abe pointedly declined to comment on Trump’s claim last week that he had submitted the nomination to the Nobel committee.

“I’m not saying that it is not the fact,” Abe said, adding that the US President had been working to curb North Korea’s nuclear and missile development, and that he “highly” appreciated his leadership.

“I’ll continue to (offer) my utmost cooperation to President Trump to solve the North Korean nuclear and missile issues and the abduction issue, which is the most important … for Japan,” said Abe.

“With that in mind, as for the Nobel Peace Prize, the Nobel Committee has decided not to disclose nominators and nominees for 50 years. I would like to refrain from commenting on it, based on that fact.”

According to the report, a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize must be received by February 1. The Norwegian organization claims they have received 304 candidates for the prestigious award, the highest number they have ever received.

Here’s even more from CNN:

Last year, House Republicans nominated him for the annually presented prize, and the crowd at at least one of his rallies broke into a chant of “Nobel prize.”

South Korean President Moon Jae-in also suggested at the time that the US leader would be a worthy recipient. But a presidential spokesperson said Monday that Moon had not nominated him, nor had any plan to personally nominate Trump in the future.

However, the spokesperson said that Moon “thinks that President Trump is more than eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize” because of his contribution to bringing peace to the Korean peninsula.

Nobel prizes are usually announced in October but awarded annually on December 10, the anniversary of the death of Alfred Nobel, who gives his name to the awards.
